The appointed candidate will be connected to the project: Small mammal monitoring in a changing world: from community analysis to zoonosis prevalence and space use assessment. The aim of the project is to compare small mammal communities along altitudinal and latitudinal gradients in two Arctic-Alpine areas (Eastern Italian Alps and Eastern Norwegian Tundra) to identify ecological and epidemiological criticalities under climate change. In particular, the hypothesis of niche displacement of Alpine and Arctic specialists by opportunisitic widespread species will be tested, and the overlap of these species’ microbial community evaluated, with special focus on tick-borne zoonotic pathogens, and virome in general.Applications should be made to Hedmark University of Applied Sciences.
